Boys Suck
Joe Mama-My very first musical(err sorta) experience. It was me on guitar and vocals and my friend Josh on Drums. We recorded several songs including the aptly titled "Noise Pollution 1,2, and 3" and the fabulous "Reading is Edumacationamal".
EviLivE-See Bloody Vexation Of Spirit
Bloody Vexation Of Spirit-This was the last incarnation of Joe Mama(a name which we found out was already in use). The name was changed to BVOS after we found out Glen Danzig's label was called Evilive. In these last moments we recorded the classical "C is for Cookie" and "How Much is that Doggie In the Window"
Dieter Spliff-A band created primarily for the Long Island Sprachfest, our performance of Mackie Messer(Mack The Knife auf Deutsch) was unforgettable(and my first live performance), as were the confused faces as we broke into the thrash ending. There were a few later practices, where we attempted(unsuccessfully) a few other tunes.
Unnamed-Well, there was no name. Tom and I played a bunch of Nirvana covers(and a few other songs) including the acoustic version of NIN's Closer. This version had the chorus "I Want to Baff You Like An Animal" as cursing was undesirable for certain complex reasons at that time. Also during this period Jane and I performed two songs titled: Untitled-Why make up a title when the theme is so obvious? and Cool People(written about those who were too cool for me).
Sheeming Kows Electic Fluks-A couple of guys at college got together and formed this supergroup named after the amazing Simon Kao. We played one famed performance at the Rime Cellar where we were plagued by horendous sound, poor musical ability, and a shortened set. Key moments include:Simon's Union Crap story and Cliff's amazing rendition of his own song, "Running In Amazon Land". Most of the original tunes became Simian Aides songs. The covers were 90% Nirvana. Then we just changed our name to Simian Aides...it was between that and Big Mack Homicide.
The Simian Aides-Ahh, those were the good old days. 3 power chords and a bad sense of humor brought forth my first recording, "Paper Clip Disco Dancers". The name was gotten out of a school housing policy sheet which said no pets except guide dogs and simian aids. The "e" was added so as to avoid confusion with the similarly named disease. Drums were almost all done on an upside down plastic garbage. The classic songs we laid down were, "I Love The TV", "Who Cares", "The Left Handed Scissors With The Green Handles" , "Spin"(whose lyrics were all taken from various lines of Spin Magazine), and our anthem "Produce The Monkey".
Shiver U.K.-A now more or less defunct project. Pretty much this is the same guys as The Simian Aides with a new female singer. The name was originally just Shiver but as the situation goes, a band called The Shivers already exists and we took the route of Murmur and The Charlatans and just threw on the U.K.(ok, so what if they are really from the UK)
Entropical Utopia-This is my quasi-industrial(though I hate to use that term) band. Basically it's me playing with my computer, making songs. It originated as me and a guitar just banging away and making some crappy music. I have several tapes of this original crap before I moved on. I kept the name because I liked it and many of the songs are the same and despite the change in sound medium, the feelings being expressed are hopefully the same.
Post Simian Conformists-A bunch of the younger type and I. We can't decide between being a punk band and a Beatles cover band. We are damn confused. At least we played at a birthday party where two band members were arrested when the police arrived for the third time and found them lying next to the curb in the street.
The Church Of Crotchy-Uhh, kind of a one shot joke sort of band. Our only song, "Rabid Goat", which is available on Buttmunch Records(#but001) does appear to be a hit in Germany.
Born Yucky-Kind of a side project of side projects of doing some goofy covers of various songs in a mostly ska-core style...
Binary Test Record- An aggressive, electronic, gothic rock fest. This band is my first to draw police to a practice due to neighbor's complaint.
